Nathanaël Denis

Postdoctoral Researcher in Cybersecurity and Privacy

About

Hi! Welcome to my personal research website, where I share my work.

I am currently a post-doctoral researcher in cybersecurtiy. I worked at the RC3 lab at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), under the supervision of Professor Roberto Di Pietro. My future research directions are satellite privacy and satellite and Internet of Things.

I received my Ph.D. in computer science (2023) from Télécom SudParis, Institut Polytechnique de Paris where my doctoral research focused on security and privacy of the Internet of Things, and the use of distributed ledgers and usage control in that context. My Ph.D. was skillfully supervised by Professor Maryline Laurent and Professor Sophie Chabridon.
 Research interests

My current research focus is on satellite cybersecurity and privacy, with two research directions: privacy threats associated to very high resolution remote sensing and satellite network cybersecurity.
My broader research interests are:
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Privacy
  • Distributed ledger technologies
  • Satellite cybersecurity
  • Modeling
In particular, I find interest in studying the interactions between these different topics, e.g., how distributed ledgers and satellites relate to the IoT.

To a lesser extent, I also find interest in the following topics (I used to work actively on these, but quitted):
  • Operating system security
  • Applied cryptography
